BTFA are an independent company but we are working in partnership with Touch Football Australia (TFA) to help with current strategies in targeted growth and development of our sport. BTFA are the sole endorse provider of Beach Touch Football as a product and service. Any Beach Touch event run in Australia must be commissioned through BTFA to be recognised as an affiliated competition to be endorsed and covered by insurance through Touch Football Australia.
BTFA’s goal is to help support the development of Beach Touch as a sport and facilitate competitions being run by Local Touch Clubs and Regional Affiliates.
To launch the sport of Beach Touch Football and to build awareness and recognition of the opportunity to participate, BTFA have a series of events scheduled across Iconic Australian Beaches this Summer. These events are made up in 2 parts;
- The National Beach Touch Pro Tour
- The Summer Social Series
All events have 2 distinct sections. I will begin by explaining the National Pro Tour Component
Pro Tour
The Pro Tour comprises 4 Divisions: Open Men’s & Women’s plus U20 Boys & Girls.
These divisions are open to the general public but target the competitive semi-elite players that play in Club and Regional Affiliate teams. Teams competing in these division are awarded points for the position they finish the tournament in. Through the accumulation of points, teams can gain qualification into the Beach Touch Football Premier National Final or AAA event.
Generally, top 4 finishes in any Pro Tour Event will gain instant qualification for the National Final. Teams outside of the top 4 can compete in any other event to accumulate points to gain qualification.
Summer Social Series
As the name suggests, this is a division for less competitive players and is for Mixed teams only. Players in this division do not receive points but rather compete for prizes on the day.
The Price Structure for the event is as follows;
- The Cost for an Open’s or Youth Team registration is $320 (or $280 Early Bird Special). Open’s and Youth Teams require a set of Beach Touch Playing Singlets for any event which cost $120 per set.
- The Cost for Social Mixed team registration is $400 (or $360 Early Bird Special). No uniform is required for the Social Mixed Division, although Teams are welcome to purchase a set of Beach Touch Playing Singlets for $120 per set.
- For those players wishing to purchase a one off singlet, the costs of the singlets are $20.
- Players will be able to play in the Pro Tour divisions as well as the Social Mixed events.
