The event will be run alongside the 2013 North Queensland Junior Regional Touch Football Championships and will showcase the best Touch Football talent across the North Queensland region.

Games will be played over four fifteen minute quarters and will provide an insight into the elite level of the sport to the region’s junior players.

The All Stars concept will comprise of a three game mixed-gender series with game one to be played in the afternoon of Saturday October 5, games two and three played in the morning and afternoon of Sunday October 6, respectively.

Representative players from affiliated competitions in the northern part of the region, encompassing an area from Thursday Island to Cardwell, will go up against representatives from southern competitions in an area that extends from Ingham to Mount Isa and Mackay.

The two sides will be made up sixteen of their area’s best players, eight male and eight female.

NQTA Executive Officer Billy Grant said the new event will be a great opportunity for the region’s representative players to show off their skill as they play against the best the region has to offer.

“Our representative players are some of the best in the country and the (Mad Cow Tavern) All Stars Super Challenge will be their chance to show that in front of their own region,” Mr Grant said.

“We believe that the concept not only offers the chance to promote the sport and the talent that exists in North Queensland, but also showcase the pathway available to children in the sport.”

The Mad Cow Tavern’s Mark Napier was happy throw his support behind the event, coming on board as the inaugural naming rights partner.

“The All Stars Challenge is sure to highlight the region’s Touch Football talent and we are happy to be a part of it. We sponsor many local sporting teams and events in the region and we are really looking forward to this one.”
