At a recent meeting of the NQTA Executive and Technical committees, the new Representative Accreditation Policy was approved, requiring all referees and coaches at representative level to hold a minimum accreditation levels, dependant on the level of the event.

The new policy will come into effect on January 1, 2015, and will apply to all representative events involving the NQTA, including the National Touch League and NQ Open & Senior Regional Championships.

Coaches — North Queensland Events

If you are planning on coaching at the 2015 NQ Open/Senior Championships or NQ Junior Championships, you’ll need to hold at least a Touch Football Australia Foundation Coach qualification.

If you have previously held a Level 1 Touch Coach qualification, and have not attended a recent Foundation Coach course, you will be required to do so before being able to coach at one of the above events.

Coaches — State or National Events

If you wish to apply to coach at a state or national level, i.e. the National Touch League, QLD Junior State Championships or QLD Open/Senior State Championships, you will be required to hold at least a Touch Football Australia Talent Coach qualification.

If you have previously held a Level 2 Touch Coach qualification, and have not attended a recent Talent Coach course, you will be required to do so before you will be considered to coach at one of the above events.

Referees

To be eligible to officiate at the regional-level event such as the 2015 NQ Open/Senior Championships or NQ Junior Championships, referees will be required to hold at least a Touch Football Australia Level One Referee qualification.
