The Hurricanes Junior Referee Squad was established in November 2010 to create a pathway for junior referees that display the potential to progress to the elite levels of the sport. The program is open to all junior referees in North Queensland who fit the selection criteria and are actively refereeing as a priority, rather than playing. Junior members are paired with a senior referee mentor and receive one-on-one coaching and development as well as structured programs and pathways to assist their development and progression through the referee pathway.
